What is ACCUPUTT?
ACCUPUTT is a golf putting stroke development and stroke maintenance system.
Why all the fuss about putting?
• Putting is 50% (or more) of your score!
• It is the most controllable stroke.
• It is the best opportunity to lower your golf score.
• Good putting DEMANDS concentration, touch, and consistency.
What does Accuputt do?
Accuputt coordinates the interaction of brain and body to develop and deliver a consistent and dependable putting stroke motion.
What does that really mean?
• Accuputt eliminates any exaggerated or unnecessary motions in your putting stroke
• Accuputt focuses your training into a narrow range of precise putting motions
• Accuputt guarantees that you will be “square” at ball impact
• Accuputt guarantees a perfect follow-through on your putting line
Why should I use Accuputt?
Because Accuputt WILL:
• Naturally improve your putting confidence and consistency
• Dramatically improve your putting accuracy
• Lower your golf score
What makes ACCUPUTT different?
IT WORKS! We Proved It! 95% of golfers tested in Independent Consumer Tests by GolfTest USA improved their putting by an average of over 50% in 30 Days!
What are the elements of an effective putting practice session?
• A 70% Focus on Putting Stroke Dynamics
o Performed preferably in an indoor setting (Home, Office…)
o No “distractions”… such as hitting a golf ball
o Instant and Credible Feedback on Stroke Quality and Accuracy
• A 30% Focus on “Feel” – Ball Dynamics
o Actual On a “good” Green…
o Making putts using the stroke dynamics you have developed
Isn’t putting practice really boring and inconvenient?
Practice may be boring as you say (and “real practice” may be even more so) but PRACTICE works!
• There is NO substitute for credible practice IF you want to improve your putting
• Accuputt makes stroke dynamics practice extremely convenient at home or office
• Accuputt optimizes your actual “on the green” value and experience
I like to use my own putter when I practice. Can I use my own putter when I practice with the Accuputt stroke development system?
• Yes, 30% of the time when practicing “feel” and “ball” dynamics on a putting green
• No, 70% of the time when you are concentrating on “stroke” dynamics.
• Great putting is not about your putter, it’s about the quality of your putting stroke
• If you have a great putting stroke, you WILL make more putts…with any putter!
I like to hit a golf ball when I practice putting. Do you hit a golf ball with the Accuputt stroke development system?
• Yes, 30% of the time when practicing “feel” and “ball dynamics” on the Putting Green.
• No, 70% of the time when you are concentrating on the “stroke dynamics” aspect of your game.
What are the unique training features of Accuputt?
• An “invisible aimline” (just like the one you CAN’T see on the green)
• A “variable aperture” training putter that allows passage of the invisible aimline through a precise range of putting stroke path motion for long or short putts
• Instant visual and audio feedback on the quality of your putting strokes
• Immediate repetition and ability to instantaneously correct your stroke motion
Is there anything else that makes Accuputt different and more effective than other training systems?
• Accuputt does not use any form of mechanical tracks, rails, visible lines or other “mechanical elements of reference or resistance” to position or guide the putter along the desired putting line.
• Accuputt trains the golfer to naturally depend upon himself/herself and to learn to use only those reference elements that are available on the green (see below) to train the brain and body to deliver the proper putting stroke
o A top view of your golf ball
o An invisible aimline
o Your putter
o Your putting stroke
• Accuputt uses no artificial points of reference or resistance points upon which your brain and muscles will become dependent.
How Does Accuputt do that?
Accuputt uses:
• A small Class 1 laser to provide proper alignment and an invisible putting Aimline.
• A putter, perfectly weighted and balanced to PGA Specifications, with a variable aperture (opening) through the putter allows the passage of the invisible laser beam.
• A “receiver” on the opposite end of the Accuputt system receives the invisible laser beam and instantaneously provides a visual and audible feedback to the user whenever the laser beam is broken by a putting stroke that is not within the putting path tolerances allowed by the variable aperture setting.
Will Accuputt REALLY improve my putting… or is it just another gimmick?
• Yes. Accuputt WILL really improve your putting accuracy and lower your golf score.
• No, Accuputt is NOT a gimmick or toy… it is “Real Training”, with “Real Results”!
• Accuputt is a TESTED and PROVEN stroke development system that will work for any golfer.
Has Accuputt been independently consumer tested?
Yes. Independent Consumer Testing was conducted on Accuputt by GolfTest USA and the results of that testing can be found on the Media Page of our website.
What Were The Results? 95/50/30/15
• 95% of the golfers tested improved their putting accuracy and performance
• By an average of 50%,
• In 30 days
• With no more than 15 minutes practice daily!
• Golfers tested had varying handicaps and putting styles (arc, PILS, Modified…)
What Method Was Used To Test ACCUPUTT?
GolfTest USA used a combination of benchmark testing combined with specified practice time and aperture opening specifications, and actual play (where the golfer used the preferred actual putter). Please see GolfTest USA Testing Summary on Media Page of our website. www.accuputt.com .
Where am I going to find 10 - 15 minutes a day to practice?
• 5 minutes while waiting for your toast to burn in the morning
• 5-10 minutes while enjoying your second cup of coffee at the office
• 5-10 minutes while enjoying your 2:30PM diet coke “fix” at the office
• 5-10 minutes while relaxing with a news break after work
• 5-10 minutes before hopping into (or out of… you rascal) your PJ’s at night
• Fact is, if you want to find a few minutes to conveniently practice, you can!
• No more excuses! Accuputt makes perfect practice, perfectly convenient
Where can I use Accuputt?
• Accuputt is designed for INDOOR USE
• On a tight carpeted or other hard or firm surface.
• Ideal for practice at home or office (Turn OFF audio during business/conference calls!).
• If you get a steady “beep” (Red Light) there may be an irregularity on the flat surface that is causing some beam distortion, simply shift the position or orientation of the system.
Can Accuputt Be Used Outdoors?
• Generally not in bright sunshine. Excessive sunlight will stimulate the laser receiving element and cause inaccurate audio and visual indications.
• Depending on the intensity of direct sunlight, Accuputt may be used outdoors in shaded areas and away from any direct or bright sunlight or sunlit areas.
• Care should be exercised to avoid any direct light to be directed on (or reflected on) to the laser-sensing unit.
Can I use the Accuputt training putter on the green?
Not generally, but perhaps on overcast days or in shaded areas. The Accuputt putter is designed specifically and exclusively to master “stroke dynamics”.
• The Accuputt training putter is weighted and balanced to exactly replicate the feel of the most competitive putters available on the market.
• The Accuputt training putter meets PGA specs…except it has an aperture through the face
What type of putting stroke does Accuputt promote?
Accuputt promotes a physically perfect putting stroke motion. Essentially, Accuputt promotes a slightly modified PILS stroke motion.
• A simple putting motion
• Eliminates any exaggerated angular or rotating motion of the putter
• Guarantees the golfer will be "square at impact” and follow through
Characterize the Accuputt putting stroke?
• Accuputt is essentially a Pendulum In Line Stroke (PILS) that allows for a slight arcing stroke motion tolerance on long (>20 feet) putts.
• The Variable Aperture feature of the Accuputt putting stroke development system accommodates a slight horizontal “arc” motion along the backstroke and follow-through when practicing long putts...assuming that the aperture is left fully opened.
• As the variable (adjustable) aperture on the Accuputt putter is reduced to practice the putting stroke motion required for shorter putts (15 feet or less), the putting stroke motion accommodated steadily transitions to a straight back & straight through motion which guarantees a square impact an follow-through.
Why Does Accuputt Fundamentally Promote A Pendulum In Line Stroke (PILS)?
Because a PILS putting stroke provides any golfer the greatest opportunity to make more putts… that is simply physics. Remember:
• Every Putt is fundamentally a “vector”… it has a “direction component” and it has a “speed component”
• Every putt, regardless of the number of “breaks,” begins with a straight line,
• It is profoundly easier to be “square” at impact and follow-through if your putting stroke path is already coming from another essentially straight line (your PILS putting stroke)
• It is profoundly more difficult, if not impossible, to be perfectly square at impact if your putting stroke is moving through an angular / curved path. That’s physics.
• One of the reasons so many new putters are increasingly heavy, or toe/heel weighted in different ways is essentially to minimize any exaggerated stroke motion and to engage, and effectively "anchor", the "heavy" upper body muscles to maintain a generally PILS motion and eliminate or minimize any exaggerated arcing or angular putting stroke motions.
So why do so many professional golfers putt with a curved path or “Arc” motion?
• Traditionally, most professional golfers have been trained to think that the “arc” method of putting was the most “natural” and accurate way to product a consistent stroke. That’s false.
• If an “arc” motion were the surest way to hit a specific target that sits on a straight line between the “shooter” (golfer) and the “target” (cup), all rifle barrels would be curved, with a an opening at point zero on the curved barrel to let the bullet escape and go straight to the target… BUT, rifle barrels are perfectly straight because it is a more accurate trajectory.
• Like navigators of old, who were thought not to get to close to the horizon for fear of falling off the earth, many golfers just lack a complete understanding of the physical dynamics of the putting stroke, or are cautious of new concepts and physical realities that may disrupt their current routines over the short term…even if it means a significant gains in the near future.
• If “most” professional golfers use the “arc” putting stroke and they still miss a straight 10 foot putt 60 percent of the time, and doesn’t that, in itself, say something about the putting “arc” method they use?
Isn’t the “arc” putting method a more “natural” putting motion?
No. Trying to coordinate the rotating motion, and timing, of the shoulders and hips with the putter path and putter face so as to be perfectly square at impact “point zero” is virtually impossible.
• The body and its physical and chemical components cannot be that perfectly controlled to not regularly “push” and “pull” putts.
• That is why so many training systems have mechanical “guide” components!
Is the PILS stroke a more “natural” motion?
Yes…if your objective is to make more putts! In a PILS motion:
• The arms fall freely vertically from the shoulder plane
• Simply sway on a path that is perfectly parallel to the putting aimline
• Maintains the putter face and putter path on a smooth and straight takeaway, approach, impact and follow-through putting motion.
Remember: The objective of any golf stroke is to secure the most positive outcome.
• Keeping the left arm “straight” on the take-away of the “driving stroke” is not a very “natural” motion according to the body’s design, BUT by practicing and perfecting that motion, the golfer is assured of the best possible outcome on every drive.
• Similarly, if the objective is to make more putts, then the golfer should develop the putting stroke motion that similarly assures him/her that the critical elements of the stroke, being square at impact and immediate folllow-through, will be most accurately and consistently delivered to the golf ball on every putting stroke. This will assure the best results.
• Golfers don’t want to be “arc” putters or PILS putters, etc… they want to MAKE MORE PUTTS and should adopt the putting stroke that guarantees the best chance of achieving that result.
• If you keep doing the same thing, the same way, and expect different results, it won’t happen!
• You can practice bad technique 5 hours a day and still not be as good as you can be if you practiced the proper technique for 30 minutes a day!
Are there other points that will help me understand the true dynamics of putting?
• A SIMPLER putting stroke is a BETTER putting stroke for ANY skill or talent level
• The pure-in-line-stroke (PILS) stroke has been shown to be a “natural” motion that requires no manipulations…and is the simplest motion
• A vertical “pendulum” motion is the simplest putting stroke for both rhythm and mechanics and keeps the putter-face square to the aimline through impact
• Non-vertical pendulum motions cause putter-face rotation and curved path motion is not good for producing a solid impact along a straight line
• The “screen-door” (curved horizontal arc) putting stroke is almost never on line and almost never square at impact point zero (remember the rifle barrel analogy earlier)
• Timing the impact of a curving path and rotation putter head are virtually impossible
• Face rotation is a disadvantage in putting… look at the pros (“most”, we are told, who “like to putt with an “arc”).
• A world class golf pro will make a straight 10 ft putt just 40% of the time
• What does this tell us about this “curved path” method?
• In Independent tests with Accuputt, after 30 days, amateur golfers were successful an average of 50% of the timew when putting from 10 feet, after using Accuputt for a few minutes daily for just 30 days!
• Fact is, the Pure-In-Line-Stroke (PILS) is superior to the curved path (“screen door” arc) putting stroke in every category: A PILS putting stroke is:
o Simple,
o Repeatable,
o Reliable,
o Guarantees “squareness” at impact, and
o Guarantees “on-line” and “follow-through” accuracy
So, would professional golfers also benefit from the Accuputt system and the stroke motion it promotes?
Absolutely. Every golfer, of any skill level, from beginner to Pro, WILL improve their putting by using Accuputt to develop and maintain a perfect putting stroke.
Does Accuputt help you “read the green”?
No. Accuputt will perfect your putting stroke and give you increased confidence on the green.
• However, knowing that you can hit your putting aimline and make the putt allows you to spend more time evaluating the attributes of the green and effectively plan your putt.
Will Accuputt help a golfer with putting “tempo”?
Yes. Accuputt will also help you to develop a consistent and smooth stroke "tempo", and eradicate any extraneous or erratic movements of the putter along its intended stroke path.
• You can easily vary the length and “tempo” of you putting stroke to simulate a variety of putt lengths, slopes and Stimp speeds on the greens.
How do I know if I am making a good putting stroke?
• Accuputt provides instantaneous visual and audio feedback
• Identifies the exact point at which the golfer’s putting stroke deviates from a pure and accurate take-away or follow-through path.
• Helps the golfer to correct flaw in his/her putting stroke immediately
• Makes “stroke dynamics” practice sessions incredibly productive.
• Optimizes the golfer’s on-green “feel” (ball dynamics) practice time.
What is the feedback medium provided to the Golfer?
• When the invisible putting line is broken by an imperfect stroke, the golfer will receive a visual indication in the form of a Red LED, which will momentarily illuminate.
• If the audible feature is enabled, the golfer will also receive an audible indication along with the visible indication.
• A green indication (and no “beep”) indicates a perfect stroke
What are the main conveniences of using Accuputt?
