What Is ACCUPUTT?
ACCUPUTT is a golf putting training system that simulates the “on-green” putting environment more accurately than any other training system and allows you to train just like you play.
What Makes ACCUPUTT Different?
Unlike any other putting training device in the golf marketplace, ACCUPUTT does not use any form of mechanical track, rail, visible line or other “mechanical element of resistance” to position or guide the putter along the desired putting line. ACCUPUTT trains the user naturally…with no artificial points of reference or resistance points (upon which your brain and muscles will become dependent) that are not available to you when you are on the green.
Why Use ACCUPUTT?
ACCUPUTT will lower your golf score by efficiently and naturally training your brain and muscle memory to develop, and consistently produce, a perfect putting stroke without any artificial or mechanical mechanisms.
How Does ACCUPUTT Work?
ACCUPUTT uses a small Class 1 laser to provide an Invisible Putting Line (not visible to the user) to simulate the ideal putting aimline, a training putter (perfectly weighted and balanced to PGA Specifications) with a variable aperture (opening) through the putter that allows the passage of the laser beam, and a receiver that instantaneously provides a visual and audible feedback to the user whenever the laser beam is broken by a putting stroke that is not true along the invisible line created by the laser.
How Much Will My Putting Accuracy Improve?
This depends on how much time you dedicate to practicing your stroke with ACCUPUTT. If you dedicate yourself to an initial training regimen such as we propose in our Recommended Training Program, and using various aperture settings during each practice session, you should see at least a 33% (possibly greater) improvement in your putting accuracy from your benchmark test within 30 days. With regular practice using various aperture settings, you can continue to refine your putting stroke to perfection.
Has ACCUPUTT Been Tested?
Independent Consumer Testing was conducted on Accuputt by GolfTest USA and the results of that testing can be found on the Media Page of our website. However, In summary, golf consumers of varying handicaps and putting styles were tested and 95% of the golf consumers tested reduced their putting strokes by 5 in actual play after using Accuputt for 15 minutes daily for 30 days. An average of a 50% improvement in putting accuracy and performance.
What Method Was Used To Test ACCUPUTT?
Method: Before practicing with ACCUPUTT, a “benchmark” test was taken to establish the user’s level of putting accuracy and success and a round of golf was playd recording putting results. With the benchmark established, the user practiced for 15 minutes each day with ACCUPUTT, for two weeks, using three different aperture settings during each practice session to gradually reduce the putter aperture and increase the level of difficulty required to produce a perfect stroke. After two weeks, a proficiency test was taken exactly according to the format use in the Benchmark test, and a round of golf was played, and the results were recorded. The user then practiced with ACCUPUTT for another 2 weeks and again tested according to the above referenced format (including another round of golf) and the results again recorded. All of the recorded results were analyzed by GolfTest USA and a final report on the results of the tests and the effectiveness of the ACCUPUTT putting stroke development system was provided to the company
Where Should I use ACCUPUTT?
ACCUPUTT is designed for INDOOR USE on a tight carpeted or other hard or firm surface. It is ideal for practice at home or office (audio can be turn on/off as the user prefers).
Can ACCUPUTT Be Used Outdoors?
Depending on the intensity and direction of ambient light, ACCUPUTT may be used outdoors but away from any direct or bright sunlight or sunlit areas. Excessive sunlight will stimulate the laser receiving element and cause inaccurate audio and visual indications. Care should be exercised to avoid any direct light to be directed on (or reflected on) to the laser-sensing unit.
Can I Use The ACCUPUTT Training Putter On The Green?
No. Although the ACCUPUTT training putter is weighted and balanced to exactly replicate the feel of the most competitive putters available on the market, it is designed with an adjustable aperture to specifically help you perfect your putting stroke. A note of interest is applicale here... it has been reported by training experts that the most effective mechanical or stroke development skills training is best conducted in an indoor setting using a device that realistically replicates the actual playing environment and that provides accurate and instarnt feedback. Repitition of the putting stroke motion, without any visual distractions (such as a golf ball) should constitute about 80% of the golfer's practice session, with 20% being dedicated to "actual" on-green practice using the stroke techniques learned indoors.
What Kind Of Putting Stroke Does ACCUPUTT Promote?
Regardless of a golfer's putting stroke preference, every golfer must be "square" at impact and follow-through on the aimline in order to achieve optimum putting accuracy. ACCUPUTT promotes a simple putting motion ( a slightly modified PILS stroke motion) that essentially eliminates any exaggerated angular or rotating motion from the putting stroke used by the golfer and guarantees that he/she will be "square at impact and follow through. Accuputt may be said to promote a "PendulArc" motion in the sense that it essentially promotes a Pendulum In Line Stroke (PILS) while still allowing for a slight arcing motion tolerance on longer putts or lag putts at its widest aperture setting. ACCUPUTT accommodates a slight 7 degrees horizontal “arc” motion along the backstroke and follow-through. However, as the adjustable aperture is closed, to practice the putting stroke required for shorter putts (15 feet or less), the stroke motion accommodated by Accuputt steadily transitions to a straight back & straight through motion which guarantees a square impact an follow-through.
Why Does Accuputt Fundamentally Promote A Pendulum In Line Stroke (PILS)?
ACCUPUTT fundamentally promotes a “PILS” putting stroke for several "fundamental" reasons grounded in the physics of object motion: 1) every putt, regardless of the number of “breaks,” begins with a straight line, and 2) it is profoundly easier to be square at impact and follow-through on the initially straight putting aimline if your putting stroke path is already coming from another essentially straight line (your PILS putting stroke) than it is to hit your straight putting line from a curved path. The reality of achieving a "square" impact and follow-through motion is vastly greater when using a PILS putting stroke than it is when using a significantly "arcing" stroke that requires angular rotation of the body and putter head in order to be be square at impact. In fact, we believe that one of the reasons so many new putters are increasingly heavy, or toe/heel weighted in different ways is essentially to minimize any exaggerated stroke motion and to engage, and effectively "anchor", the "heavy" upper body muscles to maintain a generally PILS motion and minimize any exaggerated arcing or angular putting stroke motions. It is more difficult to steadily "rotate" a heavy putter and the added weight promotes a more accurate PILS motion.
Does ACCUPUTT Help You “Read The Green” Or Control The Speed Of Your Putts?
ACCUPUTT perfects your putting stroke and gives you increased confidence on the green. Knowing that you can hit your putting aimline and make the putt allows you to spend more time evaluating the attributes of the green and effectively plan your putt. However, ACCUPUTT will not teach you to “read” the green… that will be a function of repeated play, experience on different courses, and confidence in delivering your stroke along the line that you have read. Accuputt will also help you to develop a consistent and smooth stroke "tempo" and eradicate any extraneous or eratic movements of the putter along its intended stroke path.
How Do I Know If I Am Making A good Putting Stroke?
ACCUPUTT provides instantaneous visual and audio feedback (audio can be enabled and disables as often as the user wants) that identifies the exact point at which the golfer’s putting stroke deviates from a pure and accurate take-away or follow-through path. This helps the golfer to correct flaw in his/her putting stroke immediately and makes practice sessions incredibly productive. What Is The Feedback Provided To The Golfer? When the Invisible Putting Line is broken by an imperfect stroke, the golfer will receive a visible indication in the form of a Red LED, which will momentarily illuminate. If the audible feature is enabled, the golfer will also receive an audible indication along with the visible indication.
Can ACCUPUTT Help Any Golfer?
An emphatic YES! In the Consumer Testing program performed by GolfTest USA, golfers of varying golf handicaps and putting styles were included in the test group and 95% of all testers reduced their putting strokes by an average of 5 strokes in actual play after using ACCUPUTT for 15 minutes daily for just 30 days. ACCUPUTT is an excellent putting training system for golfers at every level from absolute beginner to PGA Tour Professional. Men, women, juniors and seniors…everyone can perfect their putting skills using ACCUPUTT. The variable aperture feature of the ACCUPUTT training system can refine your putting stroke to perfection with regular and consistent practice. With ACCUPUTT you can practice in the privacy of your home or office and even a first time golfer can walk on the course and be a putting star on the green!
